Thanks to its thermal wind created by the heating of the surrounding mountains, Lake S. Croce is the ideal place to practice windsurfing, especially when spring approaches. In this period of the year, in fact, it is also possible to find days with 30 knots of wind.
The average is still around 20.
Even in the hottest months you can find very good days, especially in sultry periods, after a storm that cools the air. The chances of finding wind begin to grow again in the months after the summer: in September and October people go out very frequently.
The conditions of the lake are typical of flat water or light ciop, good for freeride-freestyle practice. Very suitable, as it is not too crowded, also for the practice of kitesurfing.
The most popular spots are Poiatte and Farra d’Alpago.
