The biodiversity of the Cansiglio’s plain trough naturalistic finds, dioramas and photographs of flora and fauna.
In the entrance to the panoramic Pian del Cansiglio is the museum created thanks to the Forest Inspector Giovanni Zanardo positioned at the edge of the forest in a large meadow. Here are preserved naturalistic finds concerning the plateau that hosts the centuries old Cansiglio’ forest.

The exhibition features two particular dioramas with the fauna of the area (deer, hare, wild cat …), and several showcases with mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and insects that inhabit the Cansiglio and Col Nudo-Monte Cavallo area, between the provinces of Belluno, Treviso and Pordenone; a series of photos documenting the karst phenomena and numerous fossils found in the area together with a collection of prints illustrating the various aspects of the forest.
The collection is owned by the Forest Police which also offers interesting educational courses dedicated to schools of all levels.
