Il Sentiero della Sensibilità
A path designed and developed for the inclusion of the visually impaired and, for certain stretches, for those with walking problems. Along the 24 km that wind at the base of the main mountain groups of the Alpago basin, uphill and downhill sections that never exceed 300 m in altitude alternate, making it a suitable hiking trail for everyone. In addition, the easy access from the villages in the valley, offers the possibility to cover it all in one day or to divide it into different stages at will.
The hiker experience can also be implemented thanks to the SENSITIVITY PATH APPLICATION which, once downloaded for free, in the vicinity of places of interest, will automatically activate and start sharing descriptive audio tracks, photos and videos that will expand the hiker’s experience providing a curious reading of the cultural, natural and landscape aspects of this land.
Proposed, in the context of the European Interreg Italy-Austria GATE project, by the CAI ALPAGO section “Benito Saviane”.
Visit the CAI ALPAGO website or more information on the path and discover the hiking activities to be practiced in Alpago.
Partly paved and partly not, this piedmont path runs trough a section of a panoramic road built in the 1960’s, precisely thinking about the tourist’s revaluation of the high Alpago’s lands that still retain the historical evidence of a remote and recent past, but are projected towards a future able to accommodate a tourism which is sensible to the values of nature, tranquillity and simplicity.
Covering a long stretch, the “Sensibility Path” ideally unites the three Alpago’s commons (Alpago, Chies and Tambre) and was built paying great attention to the area. The terminals are: on one side the locality of Carota, just above Pieve d’Alpago, and on the other side, the fraction of Sant’Anna, in Tambre.
The path has several crossing points with the carriageways that rises from the valley, therefore making it always accessible.
San Martino d’Alpago, Degnona, Funes, Cruden, Pian Formosa, Casera Pal and Pianon are the intermediate access points to the path and allow you to live this experience in several stages, fully enjoying the tranquillity and charm of these places.
In particular, the “Path of sensitivity” has two sections where the passage of wheelchairs for disabled people is possible: the first from Carota to San Martino and the second from Malga Cate to Pianon.
